Contemporary Resort Monorail

Monorail

From Disney's Contemporary Resort and Walt Disney World Monorail (1971)

Disney's Contemporary Resort opened with Walt Disney World in 1971, and its A-frame tower is famous for one thing above all: the monorail runs right through the middle of the building, stopping in the Grand Canyon Concourse. It remains one of the most recognizable sights at Walt Disney World.

This coin celebrates that pairing, with a red Monorail running in front of the blue Contemporary building. A gold border of repeating Mickey heads and Monorails surrounds the scene. The gold reverse shows the Walt Disney World logo beneath Cinderella Castle, circled by stars.

The coin shows Linguini and Remy in front of the Paris skyline, with a blue Ratatouille logo in one corner and a gold border of kitchen tiles. The reverse shows the Walt Disney World logo beneath Cinderella Castle, circled by stars.
