Disneyland's core four characters get the classic treatment in this Main Street, U.S.A. set, sold near the Candy Palace and Penny Arcade. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto each appear in their familiar look with a castle behind them and a signature along the bottom. Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse

From Mickey Mouse (debut 1928)

Mickey Mouse made his public debut in Steamboat Willie in 1928 and has been the face of Disney ever since. He welcomed guests on opening day at Disneyland in 1955, and he is still the character most guests hope to meet on Main Street, U.S.A.

This coin shows Mickey in his signature outfit with a castle rising behind him and his signature along the bottom edge. The back carries the word 'Disneyland' set over the Disney 'D', the same back used across this Main Street set.

Minnie Mouse

Minnie Mouse

From Minnie Mouse (debut 1928)

Minnie Mouse appeared alongside Mickey in Steamboat Willie in 1928, and she has been his partner on screen and in the parks for nearly a century. Cheerful and stylish, with her polka dots and bow, she is a fixture of Disneyland's Main Street and Toontown.

On this coin Minnie wears her signature outfit, with a castle behind her and her signature at the bottom. The reverse shows 'Disneyland' over the Disney 'D', matching the rest of the set, so it pairs naturally with the Mickey coin.

Goofy

Goofy

From Goofy (debut 1932)

Goofy first turned up in 1932 under the name Dippy Dawg before becoming the lanky, good-natured friend fans know today. He starred in his own run of 'How to' shorts and later in Goof Troop and A Goofy Movie, always trying hard and rarely landing it smoothly.

The coin shows Goofy in his signature outfit with a castle in the background and his signature along the bottom. Like the rest of this set, the back reads 'Disneyland' with the Disney 'D' behind it.

Pluto

Pluto

From Pluto (debut 1930)

Pluto, Mickey's loyal dog, first appeared in 1930 and soon took the name he still has. Unlike Goofy, he doesn't talk; his personality comes through in his expressions and his tail, and many of his shorts are built around his curiosity and mischief.

Here Pluto is shown with a castle behind him and a signature along the bottom, the same layout as his friends in this set. The back carries the shared 'Disneyland' design with the Disney 'D', completing the Main Street four.
