Donald & Goofy Firefighters

Donald Duck and Goofy have been working odd jobs together since the 1930s, and firefighting is one of their oldest. In the 1935 short Mickey's Fire Brigade, they and Mickey fight a fire in a boarding house, with the usual comic results.

The front of this coin shows Donald and Goofy as firefighters, a natural fit for the Main Street Firehouse, which is home to Engine Co. 71 and sits beside City Hall in Town Square. The back carries the Main Street Fire Department insignia, which is the same on all four medallions in this red-toned set. This is the one design in the set confirmed by published reports.
