Main Street Firehouse

Donald Duck and Goofy have been working odd jobs together since the 1930s, and firefighting is one of their oldest. In the 1935 short Mickey's Fire Brigade, they and Mickey fight a fire in a boarding house, with the usual comic results.

The front of this coin shows Donald and Goofy as firefighters, a natural fit for the Main Street Firehouse, which is home to Engine Co. 71 and sits beside City Hall in Town Square. The back carries the Main Street Fire Department insignia, which is the same on all four medallions in this red-toned set. This is the one design in the set confirmed by published reports.

Red is the big, shy fire truck of Radiator Springs in Pixar's Cars. He hardly says a word and bursts into tears easily, but he looks after the town with real care: he tends the flowers along Main Street and hoses down the town's statue with pride. He is also a dependable friend to Lightning McQueen and the rest of the town once the race car settles in.

This coin is listed for the Main Street Firehouse set by collector checklists. Published reports confirm only that the set includes Cars and other Pixar characters, so the Red design has not been verified independently. Like the rest of the set, its back carries the Main Street Fire Department insignia.

WALL-E is the small trash-compacting robot at the heart of Pixar's 2008 film. Left alone on an abandoned, garbage-covered Earth, he spends centuries tidying up and collecting curious treasures. Then he meets EVE, a sleek probe robot, and follows her into space, where his discovery of a living plant helps lead humanity home. Much of the film's first act plays with almost no dialogue.

Collector checklists list WALL-E as one of the Pixar coins in the Main Street Firehouse set, but published reports haven't confirmed the design, and its link to the firefighting theme isn't explained. Like the rest of the set, the back is said to carry the Main Street Fire Department insignia.

Tow Mater is the rusty, buck-toothed tow truck who becomes Lightning McQueen's best friend in Cars. In the Mater's Tall Tales shorts, Mater spins outrageous stories about his past jobs, and in 'Rescue Squad Mater' he claims he was once a fire truck. That tale is a fitting match for a firehouse set.

Collector checklists list a Firetruck Mater coin for the Main Street Firehouse machine. Published reports confirm only that the set includes Cars and other Pixar characters, so this design has not been verified independently. Its back is listed with the same Main Street Fire Department insignia as the other three red-toned medallions.
