Pirate Mickey

Mickey Mouse

From Pirates of the Caribbean (attraction, 1967)

Pirates of the Caribbean takes guests by boat through a pirate raid on a Caribbean port, with cannon fire, an auction and the catchy 'Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me).' Magic Kingdom's version opened in 1973, and the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar sits at its exit.

On this gold-toned coin, Mickey is the swashbuckler of the group. He wears a tricorn hat and long coat and swings on a rope with his sword out, set against a sepia treasure map inside a pirate-style border. The back shows a compass-like design with the Pirates of the Caribbean name, a skull, a sword and a hook. It came from the first colorful medallion machine documented at Walt Disney World.

Pirate Minnie

Minnie Mouse

From Pirates of the Caribbean (attraction, 1967)

For years the Pirates of the Caribbean auction scene featured a red-haired woman up for sale. When the scene was reworked, Disney recast her as Redd, a pistol-packing pirate who now runs the auction herself. She quickly became a fan favorite.

On this silver-toned coin Minnie is dressed as Redd and points her sword. Like the rest of the set, the front has a sepia map background inside a pirate-style border. The back has the shared compass-style design with the Pirates of the Caribbean name, a skull, a sword and a hook. It's a fun nod for riders who know the attraction's newer characters.

Pirate Donald

Donald Duck

From Pirates of the Caribbean (attraction, 1967)

Donald Duck spent much of his film career at sea in his sailor suit, so trading it for pirate clothes is an easy fit. Pirates of the Caribbean, whose Magic Kingdom shop sells this set, has carried guests past pirate ships, treasure caves and a burning town since 1973.

This gold-toned coin shows Donald in a brown hat and blue shirt holding a sword. Behind him is a sepia-toned treasure map inside a pirate-themed border. The back is the set's shared compass-inspired design with the Pirates of the Caribbean name, a skull, a sword and a hook. Donald and Mickey are the two gold coins in this set.

Pirate Goofy

Goofy

From Pirates of the Caribbean (attraction, 1967)

Goofy's easygoing, slightly clumsy charm makes him an unlikely but lovable buccaneer. The set comes from Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the shop guests walk through as they leave Pirates of the Caribbean, which has been one of Magic Kingdom's signature rides since 1973.

On this silver-toned coin Goofy wears a striped vest and a bandanna, with a sepia treasure map behind him and a pirate-style border around the edge. The back has the compass-inspired design found on all four coins in the set, with the Pirates of the Caribbean name, a skull, a sword and a hook. Goofy and Minnie are the two silver coins in this set.
