Rock Around the Shop

Kermit the Frog, Jim Henson's best-known creation, served as the patient, often frazzled host of The Muppet Show, trying to keep the backstage chaos under control. Miss Piggy is the show's glamorous, karate-chopping diva, whose devotion to Kermit has been a running story for decades.

The pair lead off this Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets set on a coin with a green border dotted with stars and music notes. The reverse is engraved with the attraction's name, shared by all four coins sold at Rock Around the Shop.

Floyd Pepper and Janice are members of Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, the house band of The Muppet Show. Floyd is the band's laid-back bass player with a sharp sense of humor, and Janice is its mellow, flower-child lead guitarist. The band became a natural fit for a Muppets version of a rock-and-roll coaster.

This coin has a red border and shows Floyd on bass and Janice on guitar. The reverse is engraved with 'Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets,' the same as the rest of the set.

Dr. Teeth is the gold-toothed, flamboyant leader of the Electric Mayhem, and he plays keyboards for the band. Zoot is the band's quiet, sleepy-eyed saxophone player, who often seems to be in his own world until it's time to play.

This blue coin shows Zoot playing saxophone and Dr. Teeth at the keyboard, the band's horn and keys side by side. Like every coin from the Rock Around the Shop machine, its reverse is engraved with 'Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.'

Animal is the Electric Mayhem's wild drummer, barely restrained and best known for shouting single words between thunderous drum solos. Lips is the band's trumpet player, a quieter member who joined the group in the later years of The Muppet Show.

This coin, set off by an orange border, pairs Animal with Lips, who is shown playing his trumpet. It completes the set's lineup of Electric Mayhem musicians alongside Kermit and Miss Piggy, and its reverse is engraved with 'Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.'
