House of Good Fortune (China Pavilion)

Mickey Mouse made his debut in Steamboat Willie in 1928 and has been Disney's mascot ever since. At EPCOT he turns up in costume around World Showcase, and this coin dresses him for the China pavilion.

On this gold coin Mickey stands in a red outfit in front of a carved Chinese lattice window, with “EPCOT World Showcase China” below. The back is gold with the EPCOT wordmark over Spaceship Earth's triangle pattern.

Stitch, Experiment 626 from Lilo & Stitch (2002), is a small blue alien built for destruction who finds a family with Lilo in Hawaii. His mischief makes him a natural fit for the lion dance, the energetic Chinese New Year performance in which dancers bring a lion costume to life to scare off bad luck.

On this rose-gold coin Stitch sits with his arms raised under a white lion-dance head, in front of a Chinese lattice pattern, with “EPCOT World Showcase China” below. The back is rose gold with the EPCOT wordmark over Spaceship Earth's triangle pattern.

Chip and Dale are the chipmunk brothers who first appeared in 1943 and became stars of their own cartoons, usually causing trouble for Donald Duck or Pluto. Chip is the sensible one with the black nose; Dale has the red nose and the goofier grin.

On this gold coin the pair face each other wearing small lion-dance style headpieces, in front of a temple modeled on the pavilion's Temple of Heaven, with “EPCOT World Showcase China” below. The back is gold with the EPCOT wordmark over Spaceship Earth's triangle pattern.

Pluto first appeared in 1930 and soon became Mickey's loyal pet dog, one of the few Disney animals who doesn't talk. This coin celebrates Chinese New Year, when homes and streets are hung with red lanterns and decorations meant to bring good luck.

On this rose-gold coin Pluto trots along in a red outfit, carrying a red good-luck charm, under red lanterns and a blossoming plum tree, inside a border of Chinese patterns and flowers. The back is rose gold with the EPCOT wordmark over Spaceship Earth's triangle pattern.
